fun

So much fun, you won't notice you are exercising!

Fitness Football is a fun way to exercise. The program is based on fun football coaching games and is a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time.

Fitness Football is the ideal fitness program for those who want to get started on the road to improved fitness and health. It is designed to provide a low-medium intensity workout in a fun group environment that enables you to train at your own pace.

You don't need to be a football player to enjoy Fitness Football. The fact that you may end up being the best player at the next family kick around is just a bonus!

Have Fun and Make Friends

Fitness Football is as much about having fun as it is about exercising and learning football skills. The sessions are fun, social occasions, where your fitness workout merges with a chance to catch up with friends for a chat. If you go to a gym how many people do you talk to? One or two? Even in group classes participants tend to not even talk to the person right next to them! At Fitness Football you will find yourself not only chatting to your class mates but cheering them on and having a laugh together.

Get Fit

Just because you are having fun doesn't mean you are not getting fit. A study by the Sports Science department at the University of Copenhagen found that football training is a far better exercise activity than jogging. The study found that in all the fitness indicators they measured, the group that played football improved far more than the joggers.

For the football group 'their percentage of fat went down, the total mass of muscle went up, their blood pressure fell and their fitness ratings improved significantly. Everything we tested improved. During the last 8 weeks of the experiment only the soccer players showed any improvement.'

Foundation of Fitness Football

Matt coached Pittwater Women's Over 35 soccer squad for three years and was responsible for an incredible turnaround. The squad went from struggling to get 11 players to take the field, to having three very successful teams, including Division 1 finalists and Division 2 champions. As a result, Matt was awarded Pittwater RSL FC’s Coach of the Year.  Matt attributes this turnaround to the fact that the women loved his training sessions and that by playing football they not only felt better physically but psychologically too.

It was this experience that led Matt to develop his Fitness Football program. If his players can have so much fun and get such great health benefits from football training why not offer it to a wider audience? Matt now conducts weekly Fitness Football sessions to non football playing clients.
